Turkey exported socks worth US$ 1.1 billion during last year, indicating a rise of 16 percent compared to 2012, as per the data released by the Istanbul Textile and Apparel Exporters Association (ITKIB).
According to the ITKIB data, in 2013 turkey exported a total of 1.4 billion pairs of socks as opposed to the 1.2 billion pairs exported in 2012, registering a rise of 10.5 percent year-on-year.

Exports of leather and footwear from Vietnam touched US$ 10.3 billion during 2013, indicating an increase of 18 percent compared to 2012, as per the data released by Viet Nam Leather and Footwear Association (LEFASO).
According to the LEFASO data, of the total $10.3 billion exports, footwear exports amounted to $8.4 billion showing a rise of 15 percent compared to 2012, whereas exports of leather handbags and suitcases touched $1.9 billion, indicating a surge of 26 percent year-on-year.

Tesco Lotus says it will try not to raise its clothing prices even though garment-production costs have risen.
Thanuruj Tehchasipaitoon, deputy managing director of the garments and men's wear division of Tesco's Ek-Chai Distribution System Co, said there had not been an increase in its garment prices for two years despite continuing rises in production costs.
