A cotton harvest campaign continues in Turkmenistan. More than 9,000 units of various agricultural machinery are involved in cotton harvesting. This year, the area sown with cotton exceeds half a million acres. As of today, cotton growers have gathered 971,492 thousand tons of raw cotton, accounting for 92.52 percent of the plan.
As the Turkmenistan.ru correspondent reports quoting the Ministry of Agriculture, in 2013 Turkmen cotton growers pledged to harvest 1,050 million tons of raw cotton.

Cotton output in India is expected to increase 7 percent year-on-year and reach 38.1 million bales of 170 kg each, in the 2013-14 harvest period, which began from October, due to increased yields owing to better rains in the monsoon season.
