Cotton futures dipped on Tuesday, but avoided the rout hitting other commodities as traders held back ahead of a monthly US government supply and demand report expected on Wednesday amid a weaker dollar and crop quality concerns. "We've got a cheaper dollar, and that's helping us," said Louis Rose, independent cotton trader and consultant with Risk Analytics in Memphis, Tennessee. "We've got this horrid crop in the US in terms of quality."
Rose added that he expected tomorrow's US Department

Cotton futures fell for the first time in five sessions on Monday, retreating from Friday's more than three-month highs as a 1.2 percent gain the prior week prompted farmers to sell physical cotton to merchants, who responded by selling futures. "They're buying some cotton and selling the board," said Jobe Moss, a broker with MCM Inc in Lubbock, Texas. "You keep pushing up, you're going to find more cotton."
March cotton on ICE Futures US settled down 0.14 cent, or 0.22 percent, at 64.57 cen

Cotton futures rose to their highest levels in more than three months on Friday as signals mounted that poor harvest weather in top-producing state Texas had harmed crop yield and quality. A weekly US Department of Agriculture report showed just 56.4 percent of the crop this season was exchange-grade as of Thursday, a drop from recent weeks.
"We've lost cotton due to the weather in Texas," said Rogers Varner, president of Varner Brokerage in Cleveland, Mississippi. "The harvest is no longer

Cotton futures dipped on Wednesday, pressured by a stronger US dollar and a rout across the commodity complex, even amid concerns that unfavourable weather had delayed harvests and damaged crop quality. "Oil's got a three in front of it," said a California cotton merchant, referring to US crude's drop to below $40 a barrel. "Quality's suffering, and cotton's stuck in a range."
March cotton on ICE Futures US settled down 0.04 cent, or 0.06 percent, at 63.50 cents per lb. It traded within a ra
