The federal government has announced that it has injected N60 billion into the nation’s textile industry to revitalize the sector.
The Managing Director of the Bank of Industry, Evelyn Oputu made the announcement during a validation workshop on the mid-term evaluation of the Cotton Textile Garment (CTG) scheme in Abuja.

Traditional Nepali woolen carpets are in the first position among the goods exported to various countries in the first four months of the current fiscal year 2069/2070 BS.
According to a quarterly report of the Trade and Export Promotion Center, the woolen carpets worth Rs. 1.8 billion was exported to various countries including the USA, Germany and other European countries during the first four months of the current fiscal year.

The Australian Wool Production Forecasting Committee has maintained its 2012/13 wool production forecast at 345 mkg greasy, which is 0.9% above 2011/12 production.
Committee chairman Russell Pattinson said, “compared to the committee’s previous forecast in August, production in most states remains static with an increase in fleece weights in Western Australia being largely offset by a fleece weight reduction in South Australia due to drier seasonal conditions in that state”.

DHAKA, Dec 17, 2012 (BSS)-The country's apparel manufacturers bagged export orders worth $61.35 million from the just concluded 23rd annual apparel show, organizers said today.
"Last year we got $66.35m but this year's export orders are less than last year. Hartal and present unstable political situation had an impact on this year's show," said Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin, president of Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA).
