Men’s Fashion Week Fall 2014 just wrapped in London there was plenty to drool over (aside from David Gandy getting comfortable in front row). The Florentines men's fashion trade show Pitti Uomo opened its doors Tuesday this week, its schedule overlapping with the London's mens fashion week, London Collections: Men.
Nevertheless, the trade show is still one of the main events on the international menswear calender, with its 85th edition featuring exhibitors such as Diesel Black Gold, Scotch & Soda, G-Star RAW, John Smedley and DKNY Men.

There was something arts & crafty about the Burberry Prorsum AW14 catwalk show. Defined by decorative printed accessories, like shoulder draped scarves and oversized bags, it was a strong final to the London Collections: Men season.
Scarves were a key item in the show, draped like blankets or foulards, that came in leaf motifs, cubist geometrics and map prints.

Sometimes it seems in London anything goes, and finding the common thread amongst a sea of individual shows, is not easy. Despite this, there were definite trends that emerged from the London Collections: Men Autumn/Winter 2014.
Sportswear and deconstructed tailoring where amongst the trends, and so too next season will be big on print. Strong shows from Alexander McQueen, Burberry and Jonathan Saunders, proved British menswear has firmly taken its place in the international fashion sphere.
